D.A.S (Direct Access Scheme)
Who can take the Direct access course?
You can take your Direct Access Course if you have ridden a motorcycle before and feel you are confident. If you are over 21 and wish to ride a larger motorcycle as soon as possible, then you can opt to undertake your Direct Access Test.
This test is held in exactly the same way as any other motorcycle test, the only difference being you must take your test on a motorcycle of at least 33bhp or 35kw. This will be a much larger and heavier motorcycle.
For riders who pass the Direct Access they can ride any motorcycle straight away. Many riders decide on the direct access test as they find riding a larger motorcycle easier to handle than a smaller or lighter bike.
Information about D.a.S
Unlike some of the larger schools we try to do 1 - to - 1 training for the Module 1 and Module 2. However we may put you together if you were on the way to your test.
Before you start your Direct Access Course you must complete your CBT Training and have passed your Theory Test.
Module 1 Test is off road manoeuvres where you get to demonstrate your bike handling skills, where as Module 2 is and on road test where you are followed by an instructor who tests your hazard perception, forward planning and general road skills and awareness.
Even if you have passed your Category A or A2 test but not ridden a bike for a while, you could benefit from by using our fully qualified instructor to build your confidence. Your instructor can focus on any aspect you like from intricate manoeuvres; general bike handling; cornering or moving to a new bike.
